FTM: Measuring Small?

Had my 36wk u/s today and it went great!!  She weighs 6lbs13oz, fluid looks great, no worries from Dr or u/s tech.  Dr even stated I am right on track for my due date.  Then she said I was measuring small.  Guess I am confused.  How can she be 6lbs13oz, fluid is normal, yet I am measuring small? FTM, sorry if that is a dumb question.  DH and I thought it was a weird comment...

Anyone else experience this?

Re: FTM: Measuring Small?

  • It could be her positioning or if she has already started to drop it would make you measure a little small. Your doctor didn't sound concerned so I wouldn't worry :)

  • Yep - I was measuring "small" at my 33 and 34 week appointments, so I was sent for a growth ultrasound. All LO's measurements were great - he's in the 56th percentile for size - and my fluid levels were exactly in the middle of the normal range. I went from measuring right on track at 30 weeks when he was still breech to measuring small at 33 weeks. I figured he flipped in those few weeks and I'm just measuring small because he has his head crammed right down into my hips.
