Ugh....I never complain about my DC kids on here, never.....but would you bring your kid if they have a nasty cold (sneezing, nose running, water eyes, etc) and a horrible cough? Like coughing enough that they woke up caked in vomit, and you assume it was from the coughing all night (you turned off the monitor so you don't really know)?
This kiddo it spending the day away from others, as best I can. We are getting over our colds and didn't have this cough....I don't want it either. After she leaves the Lysol will be sprayed and toys washed!
Re: An unusual vent (for me)
ew. I would be upset if I was a parent of one of the other kids... that is just rude.
do you have anything in your contract about sickness? At E's center that can't come if they have a fever over 101, have diarrhea or vomiting w/in the last 24hrs. Or for other things like head lice, pink eye etc.
Good news is the other LO has a big bday today and isn't here!
I do have those rules, however she swears it was due to coughing. I don't specify in the rules that all vomit is included I guess. I am going to keep a close eye on here and send her home if she goes down hill. I should add she looked like crap yesterday, but didn't meet any of the "needs to be picked up rules"...I notified mom and she didn't seem concerned that she didn't feel well. She did check in on her but made no effort to get her early. I know working moms have a job to do, but poor baby needed her mommy.
aw, that's so sad. When Evan was sick a few weeks ago w/ a fever and DC called me I felt awful... and wished I could be there right that second! Thank goodness my dad has a super flexible schedule and was able to be there to grab him w/in 15 minutes.
Hope s/he feels better... and doesn't get R sick!
You are a saint.
Puke doesn't really bother me from my kids- but someone else's kid- heck no.
Jeeze, that's no good! It is very inconsiderate for her parents to risk getting others sick(er) and I wouldn't hesitate to have her get picked up early if you think she needs to. GL!
If it's just your average cold then I don't get mad, nor do the parents of the other kids that go to my sitter's. We've talked about it before. Honestly, there is usually at least one kid at any given time during the colder months that has a cold. So we do all send them with colds. However, If my kids are throwing up or have a fever then I don't send them. Justin has a little cold right now and he's still going. I've been making sure he doesn't have a fever though.
