How is everything working out space-wise for you now that baby is here? Any storage tips you have to offer thus far? Do you feel extra cluttered, etc?
Just asking since we're renting a small (950 sqft) house, no upstairs, no basement, and while we have everything out and set up now, I'm sure it will get chaotic when it's finally put to use.

Snuggle.

Re: mamas with small houses/apts
no baby yet, but we are already getting cluttered with her stuff. (carseat, stroller, swing/bouncy chair, playmat)
but I have just decided to embrace it. I am trying to get my H more on board with putting things away immediately to keep things tidy.
We live in a small condo and I feel like we're setting in now that he's here. I had the nursery so cluttered up and it took about a week after he was born to clean that up. He was almost 2 weeks early, so I had intended to clean that up before he was here, but it didn't work out. He doesn't have a closet in his room, so I had to pile things in our bedroom closet. Once he was here and I could choose which things were necessary to have out it made things easier. Also, once you're using things and you can get rid of packaging it gets rid of some clutter too. I'm not going to tell you that my house is neat because that would be a lie, but honestly it's not worse than it was before he was born (though it is worse than the couple weeks right before, when I was off work and nesting).
We have also made use of things such as keeping the strollers in the cars. If we need one here, we just go get it out of the car, no big deal. If we had the stroller in the house, it would be ridiculous.
And ditto rkto about just trying to put things away when you're done with them. Goes for our stuff as well as LO's.
We live in a small 650-sq ft 1 bedroom condo in the city, it's tight but we are just trying to stay organized. We don't have a lot of extra baby things, just essentials. Our bed and the crib have storage drawers under them and our closets are packed pretty tight. We are just going to have to get rid of things quickly once LO doesnt use/ fit into them anymore. We also keep the stroller in my car... we're on the 3rd floor and you couldn't pay me to drag that thing up the stairs every time I need it!
Overall I think it's working well, DS doesn't need much space at this point and cleaning our small place is pretty easy. Talk to me when he starts walking, I'm sure all that will change!
We live in a 1000 sq ft house and do have storage issues - but these two things have made all the difference. Our huge stroller is always in the Jeep and we pick up every night. We put everything away even though we will get it out the next day. But, it's nice to go to bed and wake up with everything clean!
