Waking to eat

My girls will be 6 weeks tomorrow.

Do you think it would be fine to let them sleep 4 hrs instead of 3 before waking them to eat?

    During the day or at night? Their adjusted age is only a week old, so I'm not sure if this is different. We stopped waking my girls at night at 2 weeks old, and as long as they didn't sleep more then 3 hr chunks during the day as Newborns, we didn't wake.

    My ped said I didn't have to wake them to eat day or night once they returned to their birth weight but encouraged them to eat more during the day so they could go longer at night...that being said....mine wake on their own every three hours night and day.
