When did you start getting super antsy?

I am starting to mentally check out.  I'm already on part-time and I spend all morning convincing myself to get in the shower and go to work.  Most of my responsibilities have been reassigned and finding something to wear and then dealing with everyone's questions about the baby all afternoon just seem to not be worth it.  I need some motivation to get through the next few weeks!!

Re: When did you start getting super antsy?

  • I am so there! I could have written this post. I work part-time these days in the afternoons. I feel fine at home but the second I get to work I am mentally and physically exhausted....I am so ready to be done! Next Friday is my last day...I am wishing it was tomorrow instead! I just want to stay home in my sweats and clean my house!

  • I guess I'm the opposite....while I am super antsy, I'd rather be at work and busy than at home just waiting, waiting, waiting.  I'm even working longer hours to try to get everything at a good stopping point just in case I go into labor overnight.

I hear you- I had signs of pre-term labor so my boss was worried I would have the baby early and had someone start to take over my work.  So I actually have much more I could be doing at home than at work.

  • I'm getting super antsy now.  I've switched from having a repeat c/s in 5 days to now cancelling my c-section and attempting a VBAC.  Did I mention that DH and I have never taken a birthing class?

Since I'm a stay at hom mom, I definitely have too much time to think about everything.  There is plenty of cleaning and nesting to be done but I just don't feel like it most days.  Oh well :-D

  • I know what you mean about forcing yourself to go to work. I have hated working ever since I started to show. At my job I have to interact with about 5,000 + people a day, and they really just have no filter when it comes to pregnant women! I dread going because I'm so sick of hearing the rude comments.

Yep. Since we moved overseas in June, I have been unemployed. Fun at first when I was setting up our new house, but now I am just really aware there are anywhere between 4-5 weeks left before we meet our little one. I kind of wish I was at work and the time was flying by.

I'm feeling this way as well.  I graduated college in August and for about a month it was nice, but then I had everything pretty much ready for baby and started getting antsy.  Now I am close to my due date, but know that it could still be 3 weeks at most and I'm trying not to go nuts!  I can't help thinking it'd be pretty nice to be working because it would distract me.

At least my mom has come to stay with me while figuring out last-minute details of giving birth in Spain.  She's been so supportive and has kept me getting out of the house on a regular basis.

  • I've been antsy since my first internal (which showed that things were progressing early) at 35.5 weeks. We still have some shopping to do for minor things, but I feel mentally ready for L&D, to meet our LO, and take him home to be a family of four. I'm trying to get so much done around the house, but it's difficult when I get tired so easily and then have 2-4 doctor's appts. during the week. Complete with DD's swim class 2x a week. I'm just going crazy over here and everyone else is along for the ride!

  • This month was DRAGGING... and then last week my manager gave me a last minute project to complete this week... in addition to me getting my transition ready and wrapping up my regular work, so I've been a bit more engaged in the past few days then I was previously.

Overall though, I'm super antsy... I can't wait to live in yoga pants and just hang out and keep the house nice waiting for baby. Two more days of work until maternity leave!

  • I have been for the past couple of weeks but since I had my first internal on Monday and found out that I'm progressing so well (3 cm & 60% effaced) I have become extremely anxious about everything. I have been having a lot of contractions!! I have to do 6 observations in the elementary school starting tomorrow & all next week. I just hope I can keep baby in long enough to get through it!

  • Mid Oct when we decided we were moving.  We are moving into a new place this weekend and I'm antsy to get in and start organizing everything.

I am training a new person for my job on Monday and then I am going to call it quits after that.

  • NOW!  I am super antsy.  I just hit full term so I it is worse since I feel like it is "ok" to go into labor anytime.  I think I could deal better if we could actually predict when LO will come.  I'm working as long as possible, but I think it does help take my mind off things!
