Potty trained...I think....???
My 2.5 year old has been wearing panties since Aug....she does really good and only has a few accidents, even at night she is not in a pull up. HOWEVER....It is only when we tell her she has to go potty....if she has to go and we dont ask her or just put her on the potty she will have an accident. she has told us before that she has to go, most of the time it is when she has to go number 2 as well, but a majority of the time it is us just putting her on there every 2-3 hours... and there has even been times that i will ask her and she says no...and then 2 minutes later she will pee her pants!! what can i do to get her to tell us when she has to go??? please help!! we are having a baby in dec and i dont want to have her go backwards!! however when i tell her she will have to wear a diaper or pull up she cries and says they are too big!!

Stop telling her when to go. At this point, it sounds like she's relying on that way too much. Don't say anything at all about it, unless it's along the lines of, "Remember to keep your panties clean and go to the potty when you need to." But don't ask her if she needs to go, and don't make her even go and "just try" unless it's right before nap time, bed time, or a car trip. I'd actually try and stay home for 3-4 days if possible so that she has every opportunity to go completely on her own with no prompting.
Just give her a few days to figure out her body's signals, and be ready to clean up some accidents until it clicks. If it's a week or more, and she's still not able to figure out on her own when she needs to get to the bathroom, then I'd seriously consider giving potty training a break for a month or so, and then starting over again brand new.
Thank you, I will try that!! however if it doesn't work I dont think it is an option to give it a break...she will not put a pull up on....so lets just hope that it works!!!
Another poster has said to make them help clean it up...maybe I will try that too....although she loves to clean so i dont know if it would really be a punishment to help....
