Cleared for Trigger- ER on Friday!!

I just got the official call from my nurse! I am cleared to trigger tonight for an ER on Friday. I'm just waiting for the call from the surgical center to give me my trigger and OR times. After last month, I was so nervous I wouldn't make it this point. I can't believe we made this far. When the nurse this morning gave us the information for ER, she told us intercourse tonight was optional. I looked at her and said, "that's not an option." DH just sighed. Poor guy. Let's hope he doesn't take his frustration out with that GIANT needle in my backside!! 

This morning's ultrasound revealed about 10 follicles between 16-20 mm and a few more under that. My estrogen jumped to 3000, so I'm to ask for the "OHSS Packet" at the surgical center. After last month's response, I hadn't considered this risk, so I'm a little nervous! Here we go!!!

TTC in 2009, Dx: Unexplained IF
Three TI cycles (BFP...miscarriage), five IUI attempts and 2.5 IVF cycles later...BFP!!
12dp5dt: 765; 15dp5dt: 1979; 17dp5dt: 3379...TWINS!!!!!
Our perfect baby boys were born at 36w1d!!

    It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

    Good news! I just triggered last night, and am anxiously awaiting ER tomorrow. The shot is not as bad as I thought it would be.

    One tip that worked well for me: I was all in position (which I decided would best be face down in bed hugging some pillows). I took several deep inhales and exhales, and duing the 3rd or 4th exhale, DH stuck me with the needle. I think that exhaling helps to relax your whole body, so the needle does not hurt going in.  

    Afterward, I sat on a heating pad for 5-10 minutes. Today, there is no pain, at least in my backside.


    IVF #1 ET 1 d3 embryo 10/30/11 BFP
    3 Embryos frozen (1 d5, 2 d6)

    DS born 07/29/12

    FET #1 ET 1 d5 embryo 02/10/15 BFN

    FET #2 1 d6 embryo didn't survive thaw, transferred last d6. CP :(

    Good luck tomorrow!! Can't wait to hear how it goes. Please update us :) And, thanks for the tip! I've been stressing about that injection, so I appreciate the advice.  Glad to hear you are feeling good today!

    GOOD LUCK and happy triggering. I was SO happy to get that call yesterday. Also, don't feel bad about nixing sexy time, It's been over a week now for DH and I. I have been so bloated and yucky feeling that I also decided that it wasn't an option = especially with my ginormous overachieving ovaries! I sorta kinda blamed it on my RE being too afraid of trauma to my girl parts (shhhh!) Once I pulled that card out, DH was all too happy to oblige. I gave him a schedule for solo sexy time so his sample would be good tomorrow! :)

    Me: 31, Dx: Hypothalamic Amenorrhea, Elevated AMH of 18 DH: 34 & borderline morphology issues IUI#1/cycle with Menopur & Novarel = Mild OHSS & BFN IUI#2/cycle with Menopur & Novarel = BFN IVF#1 converted to FET due to moderate OHSS 21 eggs retrieved, 12 mature, 11 fertilized 7 frosties, 6 genetically normal December 5th FET with one perfect blast = BFN FET #2 = early February

    I love all the good news on the board -- so many of you, Ruthie you included, are making such great accomplishments.  And haha about intercourse.  You've got to be kidding me!  You're walking around with ovaries the size of grapefruit.  No sexy, no sexy!  lol.  I'll be thinking about you on Friday Ruthie  Good luck!

    Seriously hoping you don't need the OHSS packet... that's a gnarly estorgen number.  I think you will do great though.  :)

    Thank you so much for the support and encouragement. The trigger went well. I didn't even look at the needle. Since we had to do the shot at 2:15 am, DH was having a hard time waking up and I was a little nervous! But, it wasn't a big deal at all. Again, thank you all for thinking of us! Good luck to the cyclers in the group!
