Organic Formula

Can you please recommend your organic formula please?  Since I stopped BF, we've been giving our daughter Similac Organic.  Recently, I've read a few articles linking this formula with obesity, since it has a lot of added sucrose.  Can you recommend anything else?

Thank you!

Re: Organic Formula

  • Baby's Only Organic. They have a Dairy and a Lactose-Free. You can get it at some whole food grocery stores, but we order it online by the case at naturesone.com. However, I sent a price match request from foodservicedirect.com,which is less expensive BUT naturesone.com ships faster. :)

  • I too have been looking for an organic formula...without sugar!!! Baby's Only has "brown rice syrup" and Earth's Best has "glucose syrup solids" in the ingredient list.

Regular Similac Advance (non organic) has lactose as it's only sugar, which is ok because lactose is a naturally occurring sugar in milk, but it's not organic.

The Similac Advance Organic has "organic sugar (sucrose)".

So frustrated. Any other suggestion welcome, as my quest continues. Still BFing but would like to have something lined up if supplementation is needed.

This time around we ebf but with ds1 I had to supplement some and used baby's one. I have only read great things about it. It also is actually a pro bf company if you can wrap your head around that.

  • We use Parent's Choice Organic from Walmart. It's not availible at every Walmart, but if you check their website www.parentschoice.com you can check to see if it's near you. It's under $16 a can and DS likes it a lot better than the free sample of Emfamil we used before we went organic. It's sugar is organic lactose, just fyi...

They do seem to be pro-BF. They have clearly stated on their website that it is best to BF until at least age 1 and that their formula is a toddler formula.

They then go on to say that it is, however, safe for infants if they are unable to breast feed for medical reasons.
