So this is not baby related. I am thinking of getting some sort of e reader. I can't decide between a nook and a kindle... please help!
Here are my questions:
1) Can you lend books from your ereader to friends ereaders?
2) Can you check out book from the library
3) Can you only buy books from 1 source (i.e. Amazon only)
4) With these new ones (kindle fire, nook color), can you really browse the internet (like bump) and check your email?
5) If you have that new nook color, can you still read in bright light?
6) What kind do you have? I need help deciding what one to get! ![]()
Re: people who have kindles/nooks... questions!
I bought the color nook simply for my DD because it was interactive and she could touch it and not only does it read back to her, but it has animation. Now you have to buy the specific books that have that thought.
1. Not sure haven't tried.
2. I know you can borrow books.
3. Again not sure I only buy off theirs.
4. Yep, I use it to check facebook and stuff.
5. Yep
6. New color nook.
I have the regular Nook, and I love it!
1. Some books are lendable - not all.
2. I've heard you can check books out from the library, but I haven't tried it yet.
3. You buy books from Barnes & Noble.
4 and 5. Mine is not a NookColor, so I'm no help there.
6. Nook 1st Edition - now on sale for $89, it looks like!

HTH!
I have a Kindle.
1) Can you lend books from your ereader to friends ereaders?
You need to have the same ereader and it depends on the book actually
2) Can you check out book from the library
Depends on the library. The one's by me you can check out a book with a Nook but not a Kindle
3) Can you only buy books from 1 source (i.e. Amazon only)
Yes
4) With these new ones (kindle fire, nook color), can you really browse the internet (like bump) and check your email?
From what I'm told yes
5) If you have that new nook color, can you still read in bright light?
I don't have one, but from what I'm told no you can't. The non-color ones work because they aren't back-lit and use E-ink. The color ones are back lit so you can have some issues. Think of the non-color ones as regular book, you can read in direct sunlight but you need a light on at night.
6) What kind do you have? I need help deciding what one to get!
I have the regular Nook and I love it.
