I've been searching for something to do with the babies for Halloween, but everything in our community is for ages 2 and up or 4 and up.
I made the kids' costumes this year and I just want to take them around and show them off and have them see other kids in costumes.
Any ideas on what to do, where to take them? Right now, I'm thinking the mall or something.
Of course, we have snow in the forecast for this week...
I probably should just take some pictures and call it a day
Re: Halloween for babies less than a year old
We took pictures and called it a day.
This year, we'll take them TOTing to their daycare lady's house (which is 5 doors down). And take pictures.
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
E was 9mo old last year and we took her to a Halloween event at my grandma's assisted living home and then to visit the grandparents houses. On halloween we put her in her costume and handed out candy at my SIL's house.
This year, we are going trick or treating to the few neighbors we know (if it is not freezing and snowing) and then maybe doing the mall trick or treat event so she can run around. Our children's museum did a toddler halloween party, but we missed it.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
Our situation is a little different b/c DS has lots of older cousins and they all TOT in our neighborhood and my aunt has a party afterward so we just went with the big kids and didn't actually take any candy.
I was wanting to find a trunk or treat at a church near here just to get DS another chance to dress up, I think he's going to love it this year, so you might consider something like that.

My Blog
Jacob was 6 months old at his first Halloween. We went to my brother's house where we went "trick or treating" with my niece and nephew. Jacob just sat in his stroller in awe of everything going on around him. He got some candy too - which Mommy took care of for him.
If we didn't have family to go and see (and show him off), then I probably would have just taken pictures and called it a day.
Last Year, Jake was just 4 mnths old. We did something at our Mommy and me class and then dressed him uo again at home and showed him off around our neighborhood and that was it.
I don't forsee us doing a tone more this year either..Jake goes to bed at 7pm before the t and t start I might try and keep him up later .We also have a week long swim lesson starting next week and then a morning Halloween party..He will be exhuasted after all that I HOPE!!
I can't believe you all are getting snow!! So crazy early!! We might be getting hit by a hurricane so all this could be mute anyway starting on Monday..
After two losses, third time was a charm.

It may be a Southern thing, but a lot of churches in my area have Fall Festival or "Trunk or Treat" activities.
Provided that it's not too cold, we're going to stroll around our neighborhood to show off our little ducks, but no real ToTing. And since it's RSV season, we're not going to any church events. I guess there's always next year.
The mall sounds like a good idea.
We'll probably just take some pictures of A in her costume, hand out candy until A's bedtime, then turn off the lights and call it a night. Although when I picture in my head how the evening is going to play out, I'm imagining Benji going nuts barking every time a kid rings our doorbell and A waking up crying every single time. oy. It's gonna be a fun night.
This is what we did the first year with C (she was born 2 days before Halloween so I'm not counting that year since she had just come home from the hospital). She had literally just turned 12 months. I put her in her costume b/c I thought it was adorable and took a bunch of pictures outside since it was a beautiful fall day and then called it a day. Her nanny did take her to a little party in the park where they went all the time. She and a bunch of other nannies that frequented the park organized it and brought all their little kiddos in the costumes. I gave our nanny our point&shoot camera and she took some pics so I could have some memory of her first Halloween party.
She first went trick-or-treating when she was 2 years old (24 months); we went with her BFF and her parents and maybe hit 5 houses but it was a huge success. She had such a fun time but I didn't make a big deal out of it for her at all before then. This year, L (9 months) will come with us to a Halloween party we have during the day b/c there will be lots of kids there and she has a (hand-me-down) costume. That's about it for her.
The twins will ride in the stroller and trick or treat with us. But that is it. I am excited for Paige to experience this halloween - and it is my first year feeling like this (her third halloween). I just don't see the big deal in babies younger than her.
The pictures are cute, and that is about it.
thank you! I just finished Reese's costume this morning. I have to do her cape over though, it's waaaaay too big. She's ready to kill me because I keep fitting her. And then today I've put the costume on her three times just to take pictures LOL. I can't help myself.
we disconnected our doorbell because Gracie is a nutjob when it rings. Maybe just pull the fuse for the night?
We're having a Halloween Brunch on Sunday for our family and friends with kids. Figured it made sense to get them together, see all the costumes at once and save ourselves from trekking around town Monday night to show him off.
Monday we'll probably just dress him up but stay at home, handing out candy.
And turn off your front porch light. That's the universal signal around here that the house isn't handing out candy.
DS is wearing his costume like crazy! Our town has Halloween events going on all weekend starting Friday evening so we are taking him in his costume to all of the events. Then on Monday the kids are wearing their costumes to their Baby Gym class and my Resolve Parenting and Pregnancy After IF group is doing costumes at our meeting next weekend.
ETA: To answer your question though I would look at Malls, the zoo, the library or maybe the community center? If our town wasn't doing events then I would have dressed him up and taken him to see grandma and grandpa at their offices.
