Dark wood dresser and bookcase, light pine floors, two windows so it is a bright room. I switched the chairs in this photo - the desk chair is much lower profile red velvet, the glider is the green velvet. Background color is a wall color I am thinking about but PLEASE suggest similar or completely different colors you prefer. Unfortunately the desk must stay, but it could be painted if appropriate. White bedding. ANY suggestions appreciated.

Re: How do I pull this together? Is there a better wall color?
Mmmmm...
The only thing that really troubles me about they combination is the wall color. It's almost like it's too cool to put with all the other warm tones?
Boring, maybe, but I think I would go with a cream/white and continue focusing on the bright colors with items. I think adding another color color (a non neutral) to the walls makes it too busy. With white/cream walls add some brightly colored art to bring out the colors of the rug, chairs.
I also think I might consider painting the desk white.

I agree with a greyer and perhaps darker variation of the color that shows now, though I definitely want it more blue than grey. I really appreciate the advice. Thank you all.
Also, that isn't the desk chair but it is the only thing I could clip to polyvore that was the color of the glider. The seat and back are red velvet, but the legs are actually yellow, which sounds odd but it is actually a great looking chair - it's been my desk chair for years.
Then I am thinking of a lumbar support pillow for the glider, maybe with a felt whale on it that pulls in a few of the colors. Not sure what I will find on Etsy. Also thinking of color block prints with white silhouettes of animals in the colors of the room. I am not sure yet.

Honestly, I think you need to pull it together with a fabric that incorporates a lot of those colours. If you're at all handy with some thread you can sew together a quick lumbar pillow, or go nuts and make a cute stuffy.
This fabric would work for a girl.

This one's adorable too (and maybe it's wishful thinking on my part, but perhaps a bit gender neutral??) You could easily pull out the teal colour and make the room work if you were willing to be a bit bold.

This one's cute too - feels a bit mid-century inspired
