How do you feel about Baby Shoes?

We have been so blessed with items for our precious little girl... but I am wondering about baby shoes, especially for newborns. Do you think they will ever get used?

  • We won't put shoes on him as a newborn, but he was given a few pairs that start at size 1 that I'm sure we'll use. He was also given water shoes & sandals that will come in handy this summer since we live a few miles from the beach.

  • I've recieved two pairs of shoes for him at my last shower. They're 3-6 and 6-9. We might get a pair of 0-3 if we don't get any at our next shower, just because they're soooo cute!

  • They're cute to finish an outfit at times (i.e. the Christmas/Baptism/Easter dress), but aren't really necessary at this point until they're old enough to actually be walking around.

  • I think baby shoes are pretty much the cutest thing ever! :) But... I know they're not necessary for a long while. I've bought a few pairs super cheap and am calling that good.

  • They are super cute, but since they made those socks that look like shoes they aren't really necessary - with that being said we have about 6 pairs that either I bought or we got as gifts... ;)

  • I put shoes on my babies all the time.  It kept their socks from falling off.  Plus I think they are cute.  Once they started walking, I put them on them when we go out, but they go barefoot while they learn to walk.

  • We do soft soled shoes until about 18 months like Robeez.

  • We only have 2 pairs, one that I bought...but they look like mini Uggs so she can match her mommy! :)  And then another pair I got during the gift exchange.

I will probably just put LO in them if it's REALLY cold outside.  I think they're adorable but not necessary.

  • I don't like shoes on babies until they can walk. All of the ones that I've seen are really stiff and feel very uncomfortable.

  • We do robeez and other soft soled shoes. Our LO just started needing shoes with a little more traction and sole about 2 months ago.

I am not a "socks only" person when the kiddos go out in public (nevermind barefeet). Our newborn has some zutano fabric booties and infant mukluks for immediate wear, and then a bunch of robeez from LO #1 once his/her feet are big enough.

If you don't like shoes and don't like the socks look on a newborn, there's always pants with feet-Carter's has a ton.

  • It's cold where we live. Help to keep those little feet warm!

  • They never stayed on when my daughter was a newborn/infant, so I just gave up on them. They're really not necessary until your baby starts to walk. They are super cute, though.

  • They are cute, but definitely not necessary.  We used them before DD could walk only to keep her socks on in the winter :o)

  • Actual shoes - no, I think they are a waste.

I used Robeez with DD and loved them because they were soft, and they held the socks on that seem to always fall off new babies kicking their feet.

  • If the baby would keep them on, definately maybe, but the other two i had it was more of a hassle to make sure that when they were on, they stayed on and one did not get lost! LOL
