IDH and I are really wanting to plan for baby #4. I have had 3 previous c/s in 2001, 2004 and in 2010. When I was pregnant with baby 3, my OB asked if I wanted a tubal after delivery. I said I wasn't sure. We decided that we would wait until after my delivery to see the condition of my uterus. ...
Turned out that after my surgery, OB said I had very little scar tissue and no adhestions and that my uterus looked "great" for 3 babies- so there was no reason why I couldn't have another as long as I waited 18 mos in between births. Well, DS is 18 mos, and if I get preg now, I would deliever 2 mos after his 2nd birthday.
But, I've been reading about mulitple sections, and I'm getting a little concerned- well, scared. I'm interested to hear what your doctors are telling you or if you or anyone you know has had 3+ sections.
Thanks in advance!
Re: Multiple C/S...have you talked to your doctor about how many?
I have not but when I talked about it with my doctor she didn't want me to have more than 3.
She doesn't want me having more than 3. She did say that after the next one if my ute is in "good shape" like after my 1st one a 4th wouldn't be out of the question. I know it's ultimately up to me, but I trust my dr.*
* I was talking to someone about this a few months ago and she said that she would find a new ob if they told her how many pregnancies she could have.

Thank you, ladies. I really appreciate your input.
I am going to sch an appt with my dr and go over my actual risks. I really do trust all the doctors in my group, so I would feel more comfortable if they gave me the go ahead
Good luck to all of you!
I've had 2 c/s. Personally I wouldn't have more than 3. My view may be a bit swayed being an L&D nurse, but when a patient is on their 4th, 5th or 6th section things can get scary. Scar tissue is one thing, but also there can be unknown problems like placenta accreta.
Multiple pregnancies can have more complications and then adding a surgical deliveries on top of it complicates things even more. Each doctor has their own comfort level, most start to get kinda get a bit nervous when it's c/s #4 and up. I had a lot of other issues with my pregnancies, which is why we are more than likely done with 2 kids. Good luck with your decision....I'm not trying to freak people out, I guess I just see a lot of bad stuff happen unfortunately...
Before my c/s I said to my Dr I wanted 7 kids, can I have 7 c/s?
I don't want 7 kids, but he said "Yes you can have 7 c/s but let's get you through the first 3 kids before you decide how many you really want."
So I guess if I have my 3-4 kids I should be ok.
