Hello Ladies!
I'm new to the bump but thought I would post on this message board since I'm constantly 'googling' questions and getting answers from boards like this one! I'm 26 and I've had 2 ectopic pregnancies (one in 04 in which I had to have surgery and one in Sept. 09) both in my right side. Last month I started my first dose (50mg) of Clomid. So now the waiting game begins... Either I get AF & go back to the doctor for my 2nd dose or I miss (which is going to be hard to judge since AF is never regular) and take a test and hope for a BFP! Does anyone have any stories they could share about Clomid? I've heard lots of good things about it! Thanks!
Re: New To The Bump!
I'm sorry for you losses.
Are you being monitored while on Clomid? If not, there are a few stories floating around about why you should be.
Welcome
Hi there, so sorry about your losses.
I'd also make sure you're properly monitored while on Clomid and that you've had the appropriate testing done before starting. For information about this you can see the "New to Trouble TTC" link at the top of the main Trouble TTC page. Or there's information in my blog: https://mrs-slick.blogspot.com/p/infertility-basics.html
For my personal story about why monitoring is important can be found here: https://mrs-slick.blogspot.com/2011/06/clomid-didnt-work-but-its-still-fvcking.html
If I hadn't been monitored that cycle, I probably would have been given MORE clomid, which would have angered the cyst compromising my reproductive health.
Mrs. Slick gave you a great resource. Have you been diagnosed? Say with PCOS (since you mentioned AF is not regular)? Are you seeing an OB or an RE?
As for personal stories...everyone is different. And a lot of it has to do with the Dx. I ovulate (weak) on my own. But with clomid, I feel the "pain" of my follie growing a lot more. I walk a LOT on my job, and by cd 10 it was hard to walk after five or six hours (about six miles in that time). Aside from that, my side effects were minimal. But sadly, with our DX of MFI, Dh's swimmers never found my follies....so we continue on.
Welcome to the board, you will learn alot from these lovely ladies! And we're one hella-supportive group. Good luck!
