What are you planning on wearing at the hospital after delivery?

I'm debating ordering a cute set of nursing pj's for after delivery and to wear for visitors. Anyone else, or am I overthinking this idea? Destination Maternity has a few cute sets. I'm thinking a three-piece set with pants, a cami, and a short robe. I think this will help me feel more "normal" and a little cuter after delivery. Or maybe I won't care too much at that point, who knows!

I got my own PJs to wear. I hate the hospital gowns. I wore my own nursing PJs when I had all three of my girls and Im glad I did! I was much more comfortable Smile

Once I went into my own room I wore my pjs right away. They were much more comfortable than the hospital gown and it looked good when I had visitors coming in to see us. I plan to do the same this time around.

The first day and a half I wore the hosptial gown. I had no choice though as my daughter was a c-section and I was not allowed to get out of bed. When I was finally able to take a shower and wear my own clothes - I wore yoga pants and a shirt. It was summer so it was hot. With this one I plan on wearing yoga pants again along with a long sleeve shirt.

I would 100% bring your own clothes/pjs. I never even put on a hospital gown (for delivery or recovery) and it was great! I brought darker colored clothes (blacks and blues) so that if I did bleed through it wouldn't be an issue, but I never bled through anything. I was much more comfortable in my own clothes then I would have been in a hospital gown. I was also much more relaxed because I was more comfortable!

I wear the hospital gown for labor and birth and afterwards I put on what I am comfortable in...tank top and pj bottoms. I use old bottoms so that if anything happens to them it isn't a big deal and then I buy new things when it is safe to

A new robe is probably the most I would get.

I plan to bring a robe, some yoga pants and some comfortable shirts that range from tanks to long sleeves since it will be winter and hospitals are usually cold.

I wore pj bottoms, nursing tank, and a robe at the hospital starting the day after delivery. I wouldn't recommend something new or super cute because you'll be bleeding a ton and you don't want to ruin something new. I ended up wearing black pj bottoms and they worked great.

I bought a nursing night gown for the actual delivery, I want to be able to move as much as possible so I don't want to to be in an open backed gown. I got it at Goodwill for $5 so if it gets ruined with blood, so be it. For after I'm in my own room and get a shower, I have old PJ bottoms and a nursing PJ top that I am going to wear. I haven't ever had any issue getting blood on my clothes once I am dressed with other deliveries, but I didn't want to bring anything super new or nice just in case.

I think that's a good idea, you will be much more comfortable in your own stuff. I gave birth at home, but still wore my own pj pants and tank after I gave birth. You need to be comfy.

Same here. I wouldn't go out and buy anything special (aside from nursing bra/tanks) for the hospital. People are going to be focusing on the baby anyway, so I'm not really concerned about looking cute.

A nursing pj set. You wont want to wear the gown the whole time and it helps when guest visit.

I'd go around nude if I could but I imagine that would be frowned upon in a medical establishment. I'll probably just wear the hospital gowns until it's time to go. I don't mind them and I don't want to mess up my clothes. For the ride home I'll bring my college flannel jammy pants.

I would say bring some pants. My bff didn't bring any pants, and I grabbed a pair out of my bag for her. You are wearing mesh underwear, for heaven's sake!

I wore my own pjs, but I had brought nursing tank tops too. I lived in my nursing tank tops while in the hosptial and the first few weeks home. This time for the hospital I am bringing pajama pants, nursing tank tops and zip up sweatshirts or button up pajama tops. I felt so much better after I was able to take a shower and be in my own clothes, I felt more human. (that being said I had a c-section last time and will be this time too)

Hadn't thought of this too much, but I like the idea of yoga pants, nursing tank and a sweater. (I get cold easily, so a sweater is a must.) I don't know if I'll buy anything new for afterwards unless it was a great deal. I know you might not bleed all over it, but I don't want to be upset if that happens!

I'll probably bring a couple sets of pj's but I'm also thinking about making my own hospital gown. I want to be comfortable during labor and birth as well as afterwards. I also like the things I wear to smell like home so I don't really want to be wearing something that smells like the hospital. I can also design the gowns to provide good coverage for me so that my bum isn't hanging in the breeze.

I'm not too worried about the gowns getting ruined because they won't cost me that much to make. I'd rather ruin a gown I've made than my nice pjs.

I plan on wearing the hospital gown for the rest of the first day, but then wearing sweatpants and a nursing tank with a zip-up jacket for the rest of the time. I figured any guests will be understanding if I choose to wear the gown, but the other stuff will be easy and comfortable.
