DD is allergic to wheat, cow's/goat's milk, and peanuts and tree nuts. She has outgrown a lot, but we have been told by the allergist she will never outgrow diary (it's a severe allergy, not an intolerance), and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for wheat (I was allergic and outgrew around 3, and actually dairy about the same....).
I'm pregnant with #2 and wondering what my chances are to have an allergy-free baby. My siblings didn't have any allergies, and I know that my father had severe food allergies as a child (he always laments about the elimination diet where he could only eat lamb and beets, lol) and his siblings had none, so maybe there is hope!
Any experience?
Re: Moms of 2+: do all of your kids have food allergies?
I know there are mom's on the board that only have one allergic kiddo.
We just got B tested last week. His skin tests were positive for milk and eggs but his blood work came back negative. We've seen a strong eczema reaction when I have milk so we will continue to avoid. But we're really hopeful that he outgrows them quickly or that they aren't as severe. Our allergist did tell us that while B having one allergy wouldn't surprise him he really doubts we'll get another laundry list of bad foods like we have for J.
DS is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, eggs and dairy. Thus far, DD tests (blood) negative for all and she tolerates dairy. We don't eat eggs, peanuts or tree nuts, so she hasn't had any exposure yet. Overall, her health is completely different though. DS has environmental allergies, eczema and asthma. DD has none of those as of yet either.
I should add that apparently add the food issues (I have some intolerance and sensitivity) and DH adds the environmental issues. Something like that. blah.
I have twin boys. Baby B as serious food allergies all over the board. His tummy is very sensitive to non organic foods also, like raisins. Baby A has no food allergies. We did take Dairy out of his diet to help with some gas and that encouraged his eating habits.
My DH's family has a history of food allergies, shellfish and Dairy. My side has none
When we were growing up, my brother had severe food allergies (and asthma and eczema) but the rest of us did not. I get nauseated when I eat tuna so that might be an allergy/intolerance of some kind but that's it.
My kids both have/had food allergies. Will was allergic to wheat, corn, peanuts, strawberries and sesame ... but amazingly he had outgrown them all by 32 months! Alex was only allergic to eggs ... and still is.

My brother has severe allergies- eggs, nuts, seasonal, asthma and eczema. I have none. No one else in our family, even extended family has allergies. Neither me or my sister have allergies. I was concerned about my son who had horrible eczema as a baby. He has no more eczema and no allergies that we know of.
