I feel like in the area I live, not sure it it's the pregnancy hormones or not, but traffic is driving me crazy! I can't get to one place in a timely manner and it's so frustrating! I was almost late for my Dr's appointment this week all because of stupid construction! Do you feel the same way???
I'm doing pretty great, just counting down the weeks (eeekkk! It's really coming up soon!) How are you doing?
Haha, yes traffic drives me bonkers lately! I feel like every road I need to take is under construction and every driver that is around me has made it their personal mission to annoy me. What area do you live in?
I am actually feeling great! I had no morning sickness or anything else really in the 1st trimester. Now that I'm in my 2nd, I have had a really bad cold for over 2 weeks now. and of course can't take anything really. I feel like I have been peeing out pure tea since that is what makes my throat and nose feel better (decaf of course!)
How about you?? You are way further along than I! Are you a first time mommy??
Today was the first day in about 3 weeks that I haven't felt nauseous all day or too tired! I know it won't last too long though! I am a first time mom, so this is all very new and very exciting for me. Hubby and I are definitely excited! I'm so sorry about your cold!
I'm only at about 7 weeks now, but around week 4 I had the most awful cold. Try boiling some sage in a pot and then breath in the steam. Sage is a natural decongestant, just don't put too much in where you'll breath in the spice!
Oh good idea! I'll try that tonight! When is your due date?? I'm definitely lucky that I didn't experience any morning sickness. Again, it's all new to me! I took like 5 tests at home to make sure I was actually pregnant. And I didn't even really truly believe it until I went to the Dr. like 2 weeks later! Are you finding out what you are having?
I'm so jealous you have not had morning sickness! I've had pretty much every symptom under the sun. It started with fatigue, then started the dizziness, then went to nausea, and hormonal oh my goodness, and my poor husband gets 98% of it. My due date isn't till the the last couple weeks in May. When is your due date?
You sound like me, I took 6 pregnancy tests before I actually believed it. Husband is quite the money saver so he found a sale on them and decided I should get quite a few, little did he know that it would make me want to use all of them just to make sure.
We are definitely finding out what we are having, and we will be so excited with whatever God gives us! Are you finding out as well?
I am a first time mommy as well in the Fox Lake area. I'm new to the area and don't really know too many people so it's so great to talk to other moms from around here.
I really didn't have morning sickness too much which was nice, but I was super dizzy which did suck. I had a really bad cold at the beginning, hot water with honey and lemon helped soooo much!
I agree, I'm new to the area too. I'm from central Illinois, and moved up here last August. I'm grateful my sister lives up here or I'd go crazy. It's hard being somewhere new where you hardly know anyone.
I'm only about 7-8 weeks so it's too early for me to feel any movement, although I'm bloating so much! I feel like I already look pregnant!
Bowdisha: I know what you mean! I am a smaller woman, but I am in the round bloated stage. I find myself pushing it out more and rubbing my belly so that people know I'm pregnant!!! It would be so fun to have a mommy get together somewhere! What does everyone think of that? Maybe just a Saturday lunch somewhere??
And I am feeling a few movements I think.... It's a weird feeling, like butterflies! I am loving it now. Once my cold goes away I think I will love being pregnant even more! I got to the gym to the first time in weeks today, since I haven't been able to breathe! It felt great! Also since we have had such nice weather I have enjoyed walking. What other activities has anyone done?
Wow! Michigan was quite the move for you Bowdisha! That's great you have family in the suburbs though.
The bloating is the worst! I can't believe how much I gained in my stomach area. I'm pretty fit and it's all showing up in the abdomen.
I love working out jstaff. I actually am a fitness coach at a Curves in Grayslake and I am a Zumba instructor, which has been quite the challenge since I've been pregnant. Finding my pep for my classes has been a struggle, luckily all my members where I teach understand, and keep the energy level up there so I don't hold it all by myself.
I would love to have a get together! My Saturdays are a little busy coming up, but I might be able to do a Sunday.
I suggest doing as much activity now while you still have the energy haha. I am so exhausted all the time now. My husband and I went on a "babymoon" a few weeks ago and did a road trip all the way around Lake Michigan. We did a bit of walking around the dunes and nature preserves, and boy did it kick my butt.
calex33- I'm from Bourbonnais.. it's East Central about 20 minutes away from the Indiana boarder. I'm loving northern Illinois much more though, even though it feels like a different world sometimes.
YAY Lake County Mommas to Be!! Congrats on your pregnancies! I never see anything on this board north of Chicago, so it's pretty exciting!! I live in Grayslake, and am so excited to see other mommas looking for a meet up!! Our LO is 12 weeks today -- where did the time go??
Would anyone be interested in doing a Sunday afternoon like at a coffee shop? (decaf of course!! :-)
From what I am hearing where you ladies are at, maybe somewhere between McHenry, Fox Lake, and Grayslake?? There isn't much in between, so does anyone have suggestions for places? I know in Grayslake "Somethings Brewing" is a cute place to have a cup of coffee and snack. Any other suggestions? I really want to get together with some other moms, since not many of my friends are in the same "place" as me now!

I am in Lake Villa and my LO is almost six months, 25 weeks It is great to see local mommies connecting! Wish I looked sooner when I was pregnant. Didn't start "bumping" until right before I delivered and now I am addicted!
Good luck with your pregnancies! I am a first time mom too!
I'd love to to a coffee day and get to know other mom's to be. Something's brewing is so great. The one in downtown Grayslake might be better since there is no construction.
This upcoming weekend Hubby and I are taking a babymoon over this upcoming weekend If you'd like to get together another time (any of you!) let me know when you're free!

I'm in Lakemoor, over near McHenry.

I am over in Lakemoor/Mchenry! Congratulations to you as well! How are you feeling? First time mommy or no?

Where did you move to Fox Lake from?
I moved here from Michigan. I have some family down in Plainfield and a friend from high school in Schaumburg, but it still seems pretty far away.
Ugh, I hated the bloating in the first few weeks. I felt like I was in the "is she fat or pregnant?" stage forever!
