So we're definitely better than we were a week ago, though we're not quite there yet. For the first few days, there were a lot of tears when we told DD to go back to bed. Ultimately, on the third night, I ended up sitting with her, then would slowly move closer to the door. Eventually, I could close the door and sit outside, which is where we are now. I put her down and she tells me to sit down. I tell her I'll sit outside. It wouldn't be a big deal except that she'll come and check to make sure I'm actually there. This can happen anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes after I put her down, sometimes once, sometimes multiple times.
The other challenge is that she is now waking up 3 times a night and coming in our room, so we have to go through the whole thing again when that happens.
I'm told that within another week or so, she should be back to sleeping through the night again. I have no idea why she's waking up, but am clinging to the hope that we are almost done with this!
If you have any suggestions on how to speed this up, let me know! Thanks!
