One of my favorite tools came from our OT. This teether is great for teaching textures, easy for DD to hold on to, and still one of her favorite things to play with. DD has loved it since she was about 4 months actual/1 month adjusted.
not preemie specific but - glow in the dark binkies (pacifiers) - they rock! Also I love my Tiny Love Tummy Time mat - the tummy pillow is a perfect size for DD and she loves the happy face- its crinkly and has a squeeker.
Great thread and I bought two of the tools recommended on it. And the thermometer you recommended jogged my memory - we may actually have that one somewhere - I vaguely remember receiving a second thermometer. Now I just have to track it down!
I have nothing to contribute though - sorry. I'm off to find a red bull now.

Now I"m curious....what did you buy? (As I go order the thermometer...)
I ordered the tummy time mat (but the froggy version) and the teething thing. I'm going to look for that other thermometer at home and then I'll buy it if I can't locate it - or I may buy it anyway to keep in his diaper bag.
I have nothing to contribute but I did buy two things suggested LOL And I think I'll be trying to get a third depending on how Emme starts being during tummy time! I'm wondering if the tummy mat suggested will keep her awake. She treats tummy time like nap time LOL Not so great for her core muscles but awesome for reshaping her head

It might - DD hangs over the pillow and plays with the crinkly face or looks in her mirror - she hates tummy time so anything that keeps her occupied for more than a few minutes is good. She uses her arms more laying flat on her tummy but doesnt last as long. We also use the pillow to prop her up on an incline when she is playing in her gym (head-shape saver here to because shes not laying flat on the back of her head AND good for her reflux if shes playing post bottle) - we use this mat for PT/OT also
The arch is adjustable and it has a music box that has a timer on it. Hilyer has gotten much better with head control and JS is reaching for things while propping up on the other arm. Well worth the $30.

We have a similar mat! It is a lilypad one, but the best part of it is the mini-boppy! Now THAT is preemie specific! He would lay on it when he came home and people would go ohhhhhhhh he's so little on that Boppy but meanwhile it was like the mini-bop I recommend for prem babies because the real Bop takes some growing into ;D
Re: Tips, Tricks & Tools Tuesday
In response to Oscar's post....
We have this thermometer. I love it. It's quick, easy to use and accurate.

Speaking of tummy time...
Hilyer has always hated TT. JohnScott has tolerated it but once he learned to roll, it was a mute point. I bought this and both boys LOVE it.

These are my favorite booger tools EVER! I didn't believe it could be better than the Frida as the reviews imply but it was enough to sway me.
