Adoption

Books on Adoption

What are your favorite books on the topic of adoption?

I'm hoping to find some good general overviews and a few with a faith-based persepective on adoption.

THANKS!

Re: Books on Adoption

  • Hi, and welcome!

There's a list of books in our FAQ's at the top of the page that will help you get started.  I usually suggest checking out out an introductory book on the subject, that covers basic information on adoption, the different types, the processes, and how to research an agency.  I think books like Adoption for Dummies or The Complete Idiot's Guide To Adoption (which I used) are a great place to get started.  Other good books are The Complete Adoption Book and You CAN Adopt.

  • Thanks for the suggestions and for letting me know about the FAQ area.  I found it, and it's great!
  • I've not read it, but I've been told that Adopted For Life is a great faith based adoption book.

This one was highly recommended to us.  We have it, but haven't had a chance to sit down and read it yet.
