Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Should I put our swing away?

Our LO used her swing from about 10 weeks until 5 months for her daily naps.  We recently moved her into her crib for naps which have been going fairly well.  My husband asked if he can now pack up her swing - we don't ever put her in it and she really never enjoyed being in it except for naps.  I guess we can pack it up and put it away, but somehow feel like I should keep it out for a just in case....

  • we put away the swing and started using the jumperoo more. ella never really napped in her swing though.

  • I'm going to sell mine.  DD didn't like it, and it takes up a lot of space.  She liked a cheaper, portable version that my friend loaned us, so I'm going to get one of those if we have a second LO.

  • I've been thinking the same thing. LO hasn't used the swing in a couple of months, but it has become a fixture in the living room. So, i definitely need to put it away since the jumperoo takes up enough room.

  • We also replaced swing with jumper around 4 months. Now that she's crawling proficiently, she's not really interested in the jumper and we'll replace that with the leapfrog laugh'n'learn table we saved from when DS was little. I'm trying to not let the baby gear take over the living room like it did before.

If she's napping well in the crib, pack that thing up and put something more entertaining in it's place!

This DS only napped in the swing when he was a new born.

  • I still have ours out. He is good for a nap in there once in a while. I will cry when it has tomgo away forever.

  • I was going to put ours away, but my LO is teething and some nights that is the only thing that gets her back to sleep
