s/o finding out baby's sex

So DH can't come with me to the a/s because his boss does not think it is necessary to miss work due to an u/s (mind you his boss is his Step Father so huh?). Anyhow, I was thinking maybe to have the tech either draw pink or blue on a card and seal it, then have DS (who is 3) open it that night and announce the color.  Does that sound cute?

Sorry to be a PW today, I am feeling chatty Embarrassed

ETA: Announce just to DH and I, then we'll announce a few days later at Thanksgiving to the family

  • You could have the tech put the money shot in an envelope for you to open later? I have a friend that had the tech put it in an evelope to open later even though they were both there.  She wasn't sure if she wanted to know and so she left it open as an option.  Don't think it's weird to ask them to do that at all.

  • My best friend had the tech put a money shot in a sealed envelope, then she met her DH for a nice lunch or dinner and they opened the envelope together :-)

  • I thought about that too, but we figured it might be cute for DS to open it and tell us (as a way to get him excited) and I don't know if he'd be able to decipher the money shot, ha!! I totally know what you are saying though and if it were just DH and I then we'd probably do something like that.

  • I think that is a cute idea. I have seen us techs draw on the us so maybe she can write its a >>>> on the picture and you can open that together.

  • This would be super cute!  Great idea!  I would also tell the tech not to tell you so you all find out together!  That way your hubby doesn't feel like you got to know first and it makes it a little better since he couldn't make it.  I don't want to know at the ultrasound if my hubby can't make it.  I would look away from the screen during that part of the scan and have the tech write it down.   I kind of want to do a reveal party for close family and friends and I want to be just as surprised as them.  I think it would make for a fun cupcake eating party.
