I've heard that some babies have a sensitivity to suede cloth and I think mine does as well. It isn't his entire bum that gets red and bumpy when in the suede cloth, but just where the poop touches. His inner cheeks, if you will. The problem goes away soon after switching him into any other fabric.
I'm wondering if any of the mamas whose kids have had the same sensitivities have seen their kids outgrow this problem. I was hoping perhaps once the constant newborn poops lessen it will get better.
As an alternative to selling my never-been-used BG pockets, do you think I could just use a fleece liner to protect him contact with the suede cloth in the problem area?
I look forward to hearing your advice and experiences. Thanks!!
Re: Suede cloth sensitivity advice needed
Try a fleece liner. DS's penis gets red and raw because of the suede cloth
So as of now, I use a liner in our BGs and it seems to help.
However, after the NB poops slow down, you'll see a big change in the raw butt. Their skin is so sensitive and new. It has to toughen up
You can try airing out his bum between diaper changes. Suede cloth doesn't breath like cotton or other natural fabrics. HTH
