"Are you pregnant yet?"

This was the greeting I received from one of my employees this morning, after missing yesterday for the baseline appointment. (Our commute is 4 hours and we had to be at the RE at 8 am and again at 2:30 so I took the day off yesterday). My response... "ummmm No" and their response "hurry up".

As if IVF isn't stressful enough I do not need comments from my employees i.e. peanut gallery.

Some people just do not have any couth!

Ugh. I hate that! So sorry. If she's so eager for you to get pregnant, maybe she can set up a paypal account to help out with the cost of treatment/meds. That would be much more helpful than the comments!

Um, do you have the authority to fire her? LOL. I don't even know what I would say to that, but it would probably involve tears and/or a throat-punch.

One of the biggest problems I had with it is that she said it in front of people whom I haven't told (purposely) that we are doing IVF. She has always had a big mouth, and we do not always get along. I am the Dept Supervisor however she is good friends with the Dept Manager. So of course my boss (Dept Mgr) knows about our IVF, and I told my employees because of me having to leave work, etc... but now I completely regret telling anyone other than my boss and the company president.

I have a problem like that in my office, too. A woman knows and I totally wish she didn't because she's causing problems. My favorite to date has been her telling people that I'm pregnant. The worse part is that this woman when through IVF herself very recently, yet, it doesn't keep her from shooting her mouth off. I hope karma is a real thing because she could use a good dose.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with that. People are just so clueless. Could you maybe take her aside and explain that this is a private matter you don't want discussed at work?

That is awful - I am sorry you have to deal with that lady. I couldn't imagine if someone started spreading that rumor about me.

Yes, I probably could and should... however she has a big problem with turning things around and making them into a HUGE deam and make it seem like I was being a witch. Sometimes it's just better to ignore her and go on with my day. ::breathe::

Baseline appt went well yesterday. I was concerned that I wasn't surpressed enough since I was told AF shouldn't arrive until 7-10 days after starting Lupron and AF came 6 days later. But everything looked good and we began stimms (Menopur & Bravelle). Next appt is Saturday!

Uggh! Don't people realize that the question is a very personal one?!?! I think people usually mean well but that doesn't make the hurt and sting of it all any less. So sorry that you had to deal with that foolishness!

i would try and find something online or write something myself on how to talk to someone going through fertility treatments/etc... ive heard a lot of awful stuff during this time but thats one of the weirder ones... im sorry!

UGH!! so sorry this happened to you! people are soooo stupid most of the time!

at my old job, i had to tell my co worker a little bit of info because she kept asking me "when are you gonna have babies?" ... then, when another co-worker in her mid 40's got pregnant and then found out the baby would have downs syndrome, the first co-worker said to me.... "see, see you better get on it, you don't want a downs syndrome baby" even though she knew we were having issues!..... I was seriously horrified that someone could say something like that!!

WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE??!!!
