Sweating the bed?

I'm wondering how many of you mamas with outside babies are having night sweats. I recall this from my last baby, but jeez- I am tired of waking up to a drenched bed/clothes every night. Is anyone else having this symptom, and does anyone remember when it subsides? I am just shy of 4 weeks PP. thanks!

Re: Sweating the bed?

  • When I didn't have them the first week I thought I had been spared but apparently not so much, I'm still suffering through them too.

  • I am definitely suffering from the night sweats.  I have to change my clothes every time I get up with LO (about every 3 hours) because I have seriously sweated through my pjs.  I feel so disgusting and am now sleeping on a towel so our sheets don't have to be changed so often.  I don't even sleep with a blanket over me now and I still sweat through my clothes.

  • I have had a little bit of this, not as bad as with my first, but it could still get worse. I am less than two weeks PP.

I don't have any real advice! Gotta stay hydrated, though.

  • I am not experiencing this, but my doc told me it would happen because of all the fluids your body has during pregnancy, this is just your body trying to rid itself of all its extra fluids. It shouldn't last too much longer, I wouldn't think.
  • I had horrible night sweats after both kids were born. They stopped around 4-5 weeks PP.

  • I had that with Jack, but oddly not with Luke.  I wake up freezing more often than not...and its really not that cool in our room!

Hope it subsides soon for you!  I cant remember when it stopped

  • OMG yes! I was going to ask this Q myself!  I'm almost 2 weeks PP and every night I soak through 2 or three camis that I change during feeding. I know it's all that extra pregnancy fluids escaping so I'm glad it's getting out, but geez how uncomfortable and annoying!!

  • Oh yeah - it's a bit ridiculous, but I'm already down 20lbs so I'm not going to complain if that's the way the fluid weight goes away.
  • I feel like it just ended for me. I didn't mind waking up wet as much as being freezing cold when I got out of bed to feed.

  • I do have night sweats, even though they are not as bad as the random sweat attacks I seem to get during the day.

  • Yes - the last few night I have woken up completely drenched! Thank goodness my LO likes to sleep for a long stretch mid-morning so I'm able to get a shower...I feel so gross!

This.  If I don't have my robe nearby, I shiver to the point of not being able to function!!
