C-sections

Riddle Me This..

I had a c-section 6 (almost 7) months ago and today all of a sudden the area around my scar began hurting where my jeans were rubbing and the area also feels swollen. Is this something I should be concerned with or is this a normal part of recovery? I called my OB office and the nurse returned my call with a "call us back" message that I received on my break at work which was after they closed. I'm going to try to play phone tag with them again tomorrow I guess.

Re: Riddle Me This..

  • Does it look swollen, or is it just feeling a little more tender? More than likely it's your nerves starting to make connections again which can make the scar feel tender or sensitive to touch. I'm 18 months out of mine and once in awhile it still feels that way!

  • It never hurts to see the doctor. However, my scar still gets tender or itchy sometimes, especially if I had something like jeans or low rise panties rubbing on it all day. If it feels hot, hard or is very red and swollen then you can worry more.
