how do you recognize a growth spurt?

When I think growth spurt, I think eating more and sleeping more. Do you find that to be true?  What else?

Re: how do you recognize a growth spurt?

  • Since his first growth spurt at 10 days, DS has always had the same "symptoms" of a growth spurt. First, he starts eating more frequently. That continues for about 2 days where he just eats and eats and eats. He wakes up mid-nap hungry, wakes more at night to eat, etc. Then he sleeps like a log for 2-3 days. During his most recent growth spurt he took 2 three-hour naps each day for three days. It was glorious.

  • She eats and then eats some more, then follows that up with some more eating.  Then she sleeps and sleeps and sleeps.
