My GP's office had highly recommended Christopher McGuirk (NW Womens), who I read good things about, but called and is not accepting new patients.
Friend recommended Joe Montgomery (CyFair), but reviews were a bit scary. Also have Laura Davidson's (Tomball) card. Both are out to lunch now, but will call and see soon.
Do you have an OB in Cypress, NW Houston, or Tomball that you had a terrific experience with?
Re: OB Recs (NW Houston or Tomball)
Dr. DAVIDSON!!!
Love, love, love her! Best care I've ever received from an OB, especially during my second miscarriage last year. The 1st m/c I went through was a horrible experience with the OB I was using, that's when I switched to Davidson and have been really pleased with her. I can't wait to see what labor and delivery is like with her! Oh, did I mention I love her?
Davidson doesn't have an appointment for 4 weeks.
We'll read up on Morgan and Gianotti.
Are you currently pregnant or trying or is this for a gyno check up? I know even if you are an established patient she doesn't see you until at least 8-10 weeks. Now once you are an established patient and/or you are a new patient with complications, they will work you in earlier if needed.
When I switched to her I was having a bad time with my ob/gyn and had a large cyst on my ovary (this was not during a pregnancy but after my 1st m/c) and they saw me within 2 days.
ETA: If this is for gyno or for TTC, I am not sure what the wait time normally is. I know that I referred someone to her for TTC and I thought she had gotten in pretty quickly, but I may be wrong, it may have been several weeks.
Congrats!
Did you let them know that? I'm surprised they wouldn't get you in sooner because she usually recommends the NT scan and you have to be 11-13 wks for that.
Ok, so we made an appt with Montgomery (who a very good friend recommended and appreciated), but have since realized he's not going to be a preferred practitioner on our plan next year.
Hubs had preferred Davidson, so he called and played stupid and got me in a tiddly bit earlier than they had offered before, but I'll still have to wait until 11-14, which seems like an ETERNITY. I'll be a solid 12ish weeks by then. She's the most cost-effective and highly recommended practitioner we've researched, so I guess it'll be worth the practice in patience.
I just want to see my little raspberry, and it'll be about a plum by then! Oh, the suspense.
My God, we feel like some couple in a sitcom trying to get our kid into the ritziest preschool. This has been ridiculous!
That made me LOL. Let this be a lesson learned to start calling for an appointment before the pee stick is even dry!
I had to go to a MFM (maternal fetal medicine) doctor in the Woodlands for a level 2 ultrasound almost 2 weeks ago and even SHE goes to Dr. Davidson as her gyno!
For me, she's worth the wait. She does all ultrasounds in office by herself so that she can see what is going on versus interpreting things from a report. The only reason I had to go elsewhere was because my LO has a 2 vessel cord and she wanted a second set of eyes looking at him with a higher level u/s machine to make sure that was the only issue we are dealing with.
I don't think I've ever waited a long time to be seen in the office, maybe 20 minutes max. My previous OB could take an hour or two past your appointment time to see her. I've been seeing her since April of 2010 and only once have they ever had to reschedule an appointment due to a delivery, and they rescheduled me for the same day.
Ok, I'll stop gushing...
I'm with Dr. Villalobos and so far I love her. She has 2 offices one in cy-fair and one near 1960 & Jones. She's great at explaining things and is very easy to talk to.
