Upstate NY Babies

And the transition begins...

Riley has been sleeping in her RnP from day one.  We seriously love this thing!  From the beginning, she's slept so well in it and since about 10 weeks, she's been sleeping from about 8-9pm until 5-6am.  But, we realized she'll be sleeping flat in a PNP when we visit home for Thanksgiving so we have to get her used to that.  I'm starting to transition her to her crib today.  She's napped in there a few other times, but the problem is that instead of napping for 2+hours, she would only sleep for like 30 mins in her crib.  So, I hope it goes well...  I have this gut feeling that this transition is going to screw up my good sleeper.

  • If you keep having issues you could try propping up one side of the pnp or getting a snugglenest.
  • Ugh I am dreading this!  Audrey is finally down to only waking 1-2 times/night and still hates being flat on her back.  But I go back to work next week...I'm going to try and put her in her crib for naps this week and see how it goes.  I'm going to put rolled up receiving blankets on either side of her and elevate her crib mattress to see if that helps.  Good luck!

  • Good luck! Sometimes change is scarier to us than them.
  • I fear this day too! Noah is in a RnP as well, and b/c of the AR and all that, I'm terrified what will happen when we transition to a crib! Let us know how things go!!!

  • I would try and tilt the crib mattress.  Thomas sleeps in his crib for his afternoon nap, and the mattress is tilted.  He has no problem sleeping there, it's his longest nap of the day, usually 2-3 hours long.  Even our PNP mattress is tilted, and that's where he sleeps the first stretch of the night before going in the RNP.  Good luck!
  • Good luck! Ian actually had a harder time napping in his crib than at night. Hope it's an easy transition!
  • Good luck!!!
