FTMs - What classes have you taken to prep for LO?

Last night I finished up my last Bradley class... and couldn't help but reflect on the insane amount of classes we've undergone while prepping for baby:

- 12 week Bradley Birth class

- Infant & Child CPR

- Baby Care Basics

- Breastfeeding

- Labor & Delivery Tour and Class @ hospital

- Car Seat Safety

I think we're as "schooled" as we can be! What about you? What classes have you taken?

Labor and Delivery prep class

Baby Talk - covers everything thorughout pregnancy to L&D, I mainly went for the free food and gifts

Hospital tour

still to take:

Breastfeeding (one at the hospital and one at LLL)

Infant CPR

Car Seat Safety (not really a class, just going to get it inspected)

I am a certified EMT and I teach infant, child and adult CPR and minor emergencies as a part of my job.

My hubby and I took a child birthing class, infant care and breast feeding class. We also took a tour of the hospital.

We took a breastfeeding class and a 5 week class at the hospital that covered basics and included a tour. I'm glad I took them both!

Wow, that's a lot of classes. Impressive. I've take the Bradley classes and plan to take Infant CPR, but that's pretty much it.

We took a childbirth prep (included hospital tour too) and breastfeeding...and we just finished up over the weekend with infant cpr and newborn care this past weekend (which ended up being free after originally costing $60 because of some management problem that really wasn't a problem for us. ha)

We are taking a class through our hospital that mainly covers L&D and a tout of the hospital. There is also a one night class on breastfeeding that I'll be taking.

We took a breastfeeding class

a 4 week childbirth prep class covered breathing and what to expect with the whole labor process

baby your baby which was basically baby 101 how to bathe how to swaddle all the little things

a hospital tour

and a gearing up for baby class which tought us all the products that were a necessity for baby

we also went to the fire station and had them do our car seat inspection

We are just waiting now for baby Autumn to arrive

- We took a 9 hour class called Labor in a Day that included a tour of the hospital.

- We took a Baby Safety and CPR class

- We took a class called Caring for your Newborn

- I tried to get the car seat inspected, but the only place I could go on the cheap were only available on the days I was not, and a home visit is $129, which is just way too much for that. I heard we can go to our local precinct and have it inspected, which is free! Still trying to set that up...

- We're having a post-partum doula come twice a week (she's also an LC), and I have a lactation consultant available by phone through our insurance, so hopefully we have a pretty good support staff if you will.

- I have also cooked a boatload of stuff for the freezer, set up the Co-Sleeper and the nursery, and stocked up on all baby supplies, cleaning supplies, toiletries, paper goods, etc etc etc...so dare I say, all we need now is the baby!!

This weekend we took a 10-hour class that covered birth, newborn care and breastfeeding.

We're also scheduled for a tour of the hospital.

Wow!

DH and I cheated. We bought all of Sherri Bayles's Laugh & Learn DVDs and watched those -- breastfeeding, baby care for beginners, and labor/delivery.

I also bought a copy of Happiest Baby on the Block, which I think will prove very helpful in just a couple of weeks!

Luckily, DH has gone to everything but one hospital tour. Good thing, too, because the Infant Care class was really for him..;o)

we took two classes offered by the hospital where i'm delivering. one was called preparing and caring for baby and the other was called the childbirth experience. i was supposed to take a BF class but had to cancel and the only other one i can attend is sold out. we have a nurse coming to stay with us for a couple weeks after the baby is born, so i figure she'll help out w/ any BF issues. we're also going to take a CPR class in a couple weeks.
