AP Sleep Book/DVD recommendations

Hi all!  I mostly lurk on this board, but wanted to get some sleep book/DVD recommendations. I also posted on 3-6 months. Our wonderful 3 and a half month old daughter sleeps in her crib and up until about a week or so ago was sleeping from 7pm to 7am (waking up 2x to BF) and taking 3 one hour+ naps during the day. Now she's been waking up every 2-3 hours during the night.  She won't latch, just wants to be held and rocked back to sleep. I love cuddling with her, but at this point, DH and I are sleeping in shifts and it's making us both pretty crabby, so I want to try and find a solution to this ASAP that is gentle and doesn't involve letting Ryan CIO.  I heard that Sleepy Planet, Sleepeasy solution was good, but would love to hear if there's a book/DVD that helped you.  Thanks!!

  • Lucky you to have your sweet dh help. My ds is almost 8 months, wakes every two hours and I do it by myself!! Sounds like the 4 month wake period. Good luck!

I am extremely lucky!!  I've been EBF, so even if he does a bottle I still have to pump, but he's said all along that he's committed to supporting BFing even if it's just a show of solidarity in waking up with me.

  • Sounds like the 4 month wakeful! It will pass!! I lime the No Cry Sleep Solution for gentle sleeping tips.

  • It's really tough at that age because they go through so many changes!  I got some good ideas from No Cry Sleep Solution.  Dr. Sears has some info on his website too.  As DS got older, the Sleep Lady Shuffle has worked well.  The Happiest Baby on The Block has some good tips too.  I think there are some videos on YouTube.  GL!

  • I really liked the baby whisperer for sleep tips.

Are you opposed to bedsharing? That might help LO sleep better if all she wants is to be snuggled.
