Nightmare crying?

My 4 month old occasionally will cry very loudly for about 5 seconds while sleeping (usually during her first hour of sleep) at night.  She doesn't wake up, and it usually only happens once every few days.  It's very weird, anyone else's LO do this?

    DS did this last night for the first time ever. He let out a really loud scream/cry so DH and I ran into his room and flipped on his lights thinking he was hurt. He was still sleeping until we scared the crap out of him. I am assuming it was a nightmare. It was very weird.

    I know, it makes me so sad to think she could be having nightmares!! :(

    My LO has done this too. I didn't think it was an nightmare, I assumed it was teething or gas pain that was enough to bother her, but not so much that she couldn't resettle herself.

    DS does this. I don't know why. Doesn't matter if i'm holding him or if he is in his crib.

    DS does this several times a night. Last night it went almost every hour..but he's teething and woke up with a stuffy nose :(

    DS does this every now and then too. It's the most awful cry like he's in pain but he never opens his eyes and settles down within a few minutes.
