Babies: 6 - 9 Months

about at my wits end! Please Help

Ok so I haven' been on here in a while but I am in serious need of help. My LO is 7 months old and is still up about 6 times a night or more! I have tried everything that I know to do to no avail. I need some help!

  • if that stands for crying it out... yes. She gets herself so worked up every time though and once it gets to a certain level I have no choice but to give in because she will wake up her sister.

  • Are you nursing? I posted earlier today about having DH go in and soothe her rather than me going in and having to nurse her to calm her down. It worked. She woke up 6x the night we tried it. He went in every time that night and then she STTN the next nights ... fingers crossed moving forward!

  • I tried letting mine cry it out, I tried pick up put down, and I tried slowly digressing in the amount she ate through the night.  I upped her solids to 3 meals a day.  Basically I had done everything in the many books I had read.  NOTHING WORKED.  Finally out of pure frustration I'm trying extinction.  Where you put them to bed, and then don't go back in until the morning.  It sucks, the first night she cried for 30 minutes the first time she woke up and 15 each time after.  The next night it was 20 minutes at the first waking and 5 at the others.  Last night it was literally a minute and she only woke twice and slept 12 hours!!!!!!!  I know it's not for everyone, but it was our last hope and it appears to be working.

  • I have tried when she wakes not going in to her mostly because I am so exhausted at this point sometimes I am in such a dreamlike state I can't seem to move! She will cry all night though, getting louder and louder until she is screaming and horse. then she wakes my toddler up who also starts  crying because she doesn't want to be woken up.

  • Oh Lord!  We did the Ferber method with our DD, and it worked in a couple of nights (we have to "refresh" her once in a while!).  our DD shares a room with her 5-year-old sister, so when we Ferberized, we put DD1 in another room campout style for a couple of nights.  maybe try to put your older one in your room for a bit until LO figures it out?
