I posted previously, wondering if the BFP I got on Friday night (10/21) could have been from my trigger. So, since then, I've gotten nothing but positive tests and they are getting darker each day. Today I am 8dp5dt or 13dpo. Called my nurse this AM to see if they would do my beta a couple days earlier, and they said it's too early and they won't move it up. I was so discouraged after our discussion b/c she made it sound like they're either false positives, or something is going to go wrong between now and Friday, so just wait.
Did any of you ladies ever experience this, or have any idea what the reasoning is behind making me wait?
Re: RE Won't Move Beta Up!!! (Grrrr)
My clinic doesn't even test until 14dp5dt, which is ridiculously late. But, I think they want to be "sure" that they can tell you with more certainty whether things are looking good or perhaps, low, but not likely to get better.
I know it's tough, but after 2 chemical pregnancies and getting beta results of 14 and 28 at 9dp5dt and then just having it hang in beta hell, it was a relief just to hear a fabulous number at 14dp5dt this time around.
Started TTC 05.08
Me: Stage II endo, borderline high FSH
DH: perfect
1 lap, 5 IUIs = 4 BFNs and 1 c/p
2 IVFs, 2 FETs = 1 BFN, 1 c/p, 1 ectopic and finally a sticky BFP in May 2011!
1 FET in Aug 2013 = BFP!
Sorry, I know it's hard to wait
I had my beta drawn early (8dp5dt instead of 10dp5dt) because I developed OHSS. That said, when my nurse called to give me my results (81), she said it was still early, so it might be the trigger. She didn't actually say, "Congratulations, you're pregnant!" until my second beta had been drawn--and more than doubled--two days later.
I know it's hard/impossible, but try not to let what your nurse said bring you down. A lot of things can go wrong in the beginning, but that doesn't mean they will--I think she's just being cautious. I bet they're having you wait so there's no chance of getting a false positive. GL!
The clinics are usually pretty particular about following their protocol to a T. Try not to be too frustrated with them. You are NOT getting false positives. Just be happy with your BFP and go in for your beta when it's time.
Congrats again!

That is frustrating for sure! My RE always did 1st betas on 8dp5dt, or 13 dpo. That was just his protocol. Not sure what your RE's rationale is for waiting but hoping Friday comes quickly for you and that you have a great beta!
