Just wanted some opinions, B will be 2 years old next month and is still in his crib, I mean, that's acceptable right? He's never tried to climb out of it (which is a shock because he climbs EVERYTHING). I just figure as long as he hasn't done that yet it's not weird to keep him sleeping in the crib?
Re: When to tansition to toddler bed
We moved DS1 to a bed at 22 months because we wanted to transition him before DS2 was born. If we were not having a baby I would have probably waited a few months. Not that we had problems but I just would not have thought to.
We are moving DS2 to a bed soon so he will be about the same age that DS1 was. He doesn't climb out of the crib but shows interest in DS1 bed. They share a room. I have also had a problem this past weekend with DS1 climbing in the crib when he has been sent to his room. So I am ready to move it out.
In general I suggest moving to a bed a few months before you will try potty training. I can't imagine trying to potty train while in a crib or doing both at the same time.
We're planning on getting DD a toddler bed soonish. She's shown no interest in climbing out (which is weird because she climbs everything else), but we (ideally) would like her potty training and sleeping in her big girl bed before #2 arrives.
Like a PP said, I think it's better to get her into a toddler bed before potty training and I don't want to implement tons of changes all at once with a new baby coming.
