So, after 2.5 years, our house is finally under contract. I have to say it's been the most stressful experience I've ever been throgh - we put it on the market when I was pregnant with Hayden!! Anyway, we are under contract on a new house in Milton and I need some advice from the north side moms.
Our nanny, who has been with us for almost 4 years, is going back to school for another degree. We knew that was going to happen eventually, since she moved her for grad school and didn't like the program. She is starting an acclerated program in January. The elementary school for the new house doesn't have GA pre-k, so I'm almost 100% that we won't get a new nanny in Jan., but instead do Goddard or another school so that Colin will already be there and can get go to pre-k there too. I am having some mommy guilt over this whole thing, but I think they will be ok and it will be a good change. With all that rambling, does anyone know anything about the Goddard at Windward or Carrington Academy at McFarland? The Carrington Academy is almost just beside our new neighborhood and looks great....does anyone have a child that goes there or know anything about either school?
I'm excited to finally be moving! But super stressed - we close in 5 weeks! If you have free time and want to help me pack, just let me know
Re: Lots of change for us....
Haha Brandi, that might do me in right now ....maybe next year
Congratulations on getting your house sold after all this time!!!
I have a friend that sends her daughter to Carrington Academy and loves it. Unfortunately that is all I know but I have not heard anything negative about it.
GL with your move!
YAYAYAY for finally selling the house! I can't even imagine what a relief that is.
PS, I just googled Milton because I have no idea where it is and OMG that is SO FAR AWAY!!!
Carrie the Goddard at Windward is nice, the Goddard in Crabapple was not my favorite. Others may disagree with me, but the director there rubbed me the wrong way with her thoughts on chiropractors and alternative medicine. And a close talker too.
Congrats to you guys! Very exciting news.
Heather, Milton is not *that* far, although its pretty close to my old house in Woodstock, so from Decatur maybe... But I still managed to go to the zoo 1-2x/week when I lived up there. Anyhow, there's a great restaurant up there called Miltons that is not to be missed.
I'm so excited for you! I live in Milton too....but closer to Crabapple.
No advice on Carrington.....but didn't soon2b3 send Doodle to the Goddard at Windward?
I love love love Milton. Now i can see you more!

I sent my son to the Goddard on Windward. I have since moved him to Carrington at McFarland. I have a 2.5 year old and a 4.5 month old. I personally prefer the infant room so much more at Carrington then Goddard. Now I might have been an uptight first mom at Goddard and have calmed down a little just from pure exhaustion. I left Goddard because my all time favorite teacher move to Carrington. My son has been with her from 1 year to now. (she keeps moving classrooms with him) so I LOVE this arrangement since he has her. Carrington just hired a new Executive Director and she is wonderful. I also really like the district director. I did not care for two of the directors at Goddard. (I did hear that one of them is no longer there) my favorite Director at Goddard I also heard left. One of my very close friends son is in the 3-4 year room at Carrington and also loves the lead teacher in that room.(This mom also moved from Goddard with me, and is a teacher herself at a public school). the price comparison between the two was about $150 less a month at Carrington then Goddard. Carrington does not charge for food as Goddard charges $3 a day for lunch direct. Carrington is also offering one month free right now. If you would like more info PM me at jamieschoenfeldt@gmail.com
Yeah congrats on selling. I know nothing about daycares that you mentioned. Did you know you will live right down the street from me? I am on HWY by exit 13.
And no Heather it isn't that far. I still make it to the zoo and other activities downtown.
Huge Congratulations on selling your house!!

Congrats on selling your house!! And we need to have a get-together with all these new Milton/Alpharetta folks, I feel like I miss out on so much living out in the boonies with all the get-togethers in-town and in Marietta/Woodstock/E. Cobb, etc.
And Heather, "FAR" is where I live, you would die if you had to drive out here!!
