So I'm looking for a good book to read about TTC, I just finished 'Belly Laughs', loved it!! I was considering 'What to Expect Before You're Expecting' but have heard lots of mixed reviews about it. What books have you read/heard good things about? TIA!
Re: TTC Book Rec.!! Need some ideas!
Taking Charge of Your Fertility - by far the most informative TTC book I have ever read.
What to expect, like PP said, was awful. BO-ring and not a lot of info that's not common sense. Plus, the parts on fertility treatments were just WRONG.
Started fertility treatments 11/2010

SURPRISE! Pregnant without intervention - 7/2012
Sweet Baby James Born 3/2013

....OR NOT.

married bio
Conception chronicles. It?s very funny, has true story?s and lot of info without being too scientific. I highly recommend.
I just checked out Belly Laughs on Amazon and I think I'll have to get it now! Thanks for posting this

A must read is Guide to Childbirth by Ina May Gaskin... and Another one i really enjoyed was "Born in the USA" by Marsden Wagner... While these arent nesseccarilly TTC books they are still a WEALTH of information that you wont find in most other books, especially Born in the USA - really opened my eyes to alot of stuff that ppl dont tell you.
Im currently reading The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy and Im finding it to be kind of patronizing and trying to put a negative spin on pregnancy. My mom picked it up and said "If I had read this book I would have never gotten pregnant - this makes it sound awful!" The author lost all credibility to me when she said after a baby you will never be able to wear a bikini again, meanwhile I just spent a week in Jamaica with my BFF who had a baby one year ago - wearing a bikini and looking like she never gave birth int he first place.
