This last Thursday. Same as PP - she was doing my strep B test. I'm going to see her weekly now, so she said that it's optional to have her check me at all those.

I go tomorrow and am either 36w2d or 37w depending on how you are counting. I was told that they would do one tomorrow. The practice at my doctor's office is to start them at 36 weeks. If - for some reason - you don't want one, I know you have the right to refuse.
41w, though I might just have gotten it because they were stripping my membranes anyways.
The thing is, they don't tell you anything useful unless they think that you're at risk for preterm labor, checking your favorability for induction, or seeing if you're good to push. You can walk around 3cm dilated for weeks, or go into labor high and closed. Even during labor, women progress at different rates at different times.
I know that all of this has been said before, but then there are also a billion threads about women who get discouraged because they thought that they were about to go based on their effacemnet and dilation at their exams.... And they're still waiting.
At 36 Weeks when my Doctor did my Group B Strep test she checked me for progress. At my 37 week appointment today she did not and she told me she probably would next week at 38 weeks.
Re: exams at the doc.

My Dr doesn't check unless requested or until you've been admitted to the hospital.
