Dissolvable stitches

If you had dissolvable stitches, how long did it take for them to dissolve?  I had my c-section 6 weeks ago and I still have little loops of thread coming out of my incision.  And of course, I forgot to ask about it at my postpartum appointment today.  How long does it take for them to completely dissolve and go away?

    At my 8 week appointment, the OB pulled some through that were poking up through my skin from the internal stitches!  Ack!  All of the external stitches were dissolved by 8 weeks though.  I still had some work their way up and through my skin from the inside four months pp though.

    Interesting, I never had any poke through or work their way up at a later date. I might call the OB office and talk to a nurse to see what they say.

    They shouldn't still be there, call your OB tomorrow.

    I had a few poking through at 4 weeks still. It fell right off when I touched it though.
