6 week check up & AF!

Sooooo question, I have my 6 week check up on Monday & I started my period the other day & with it being the first one pp i'm not sure how long it's going to last (so far it's not showing any signs of slowing). Since we had c-sections, is the 6wk follow up just an incision check or do they do an internal as well? Will they still do an internal if i'm still on my period? I can imagine that it'd be quite messy & a bit awkward.

Tell me about your 6 week follow up...

For my 6 week check they did an internal exam. I still had PP bleeding at that point (I seriously bled forever!). It was messy but whatever. They deliver babies all day - they've seen worse.

i was not due for a pap, so my 6 week check up was solely an incision check.

I had an internal - I was about due for one, so I'm not sure if they would have done it otherwise. I'm no longer bleeding, though.

So, here's a stupid question.....after I bled, I stopped and then started again, just veryyyyyyyyyy lightly (gross but kinda mucusy, light pink), but my question is how do you know if it's your period or if it's still bleeding from the baby? Does your period return like you had it before your pregnancy?

Am 6 weeks today, going for my post visit on Monday....

Cteach, i'm assuming it's my period because it's bright red blood & fills pads just like it did before pregnancy. i stopped bleeding a couple of weeks PP. And i had that nasty mucous stuff too for a week or so after. I'm 7wks PP (as of tomorrow) and i don't think i've had any mucous/blood for at least 3 weeks (if not more). So i'm assuming it's my period. I'll ask when I go to the doctor's on Monday though.
