A little freaked.

So I had a mammogram today. Thought it would take 20 minutes ended up being over 4 hours. Bottom line is they took 9 images or so and did an ultra sound. I have a mass in my right breast that is undetectable by feeling. I am sure it is nothing, but we are going to do a biopsy on it in a few days or early next week. There were a lot of ups and downs today. I am not going to worry until there is something to worry about. Not telling my friends too much, but thought I could share my news here. This is such an awesome support group. Think happy thoughts for me! I will say early intervention seems to keep replaying in my head! So needless to say I am a little freaked! TIA

Yeah, that would freak me out too. I have lumpy boobs and have to get checked, it's scary! But it's not uncommon to just have lumps that are just fine, so fingers crossed that's you. Best wishes.

I hope all is well. I had a biopsy for a lump a couple of years ago and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be (turned out to be benign mass of tissue).

I know it must be so hard not to freak out, but I agree that the best thing is to *try* not to worry until there is something to worry about. Just trust that your doctors found whatever it is (benign or otherwise) early and that everything is going to work out. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I hope you get answers quickly!

I'm so sorry you have this weighing on your mind, Mellie. I hope its nothing. Good on your doctors for taking all the pictures they need and being proactive. But really good for you for having your mammo. I am overdue for mine, and this is a reminder to get it done.
