5 wk ultrasound?? What did you see??

I went to the dr last week and had a us. I the sak measures 5 weeks, but all we saw was sak and egg. I go back this week for another us. Has anyone else had a us at 5 weeks? What did you see???

I had one at 5 weeks, 1 day and all we saw was the sack. It looked like a big black hole.

I went back a week later (I am high risk) and we had the fetal pole and heartbeat!

I have to wait until 8 weeks, but my Sister's 5wk u/s showed the same thing. She went back a week or two later and they saw the heartbeat. I now have a healthy 4 month old Nephew!

It's completely normal don't worry, the US will usually pick up a heartbeat only starting at 6 weeks and even then it's not guaranteed

I was concerned about the same thing. I had to do an early ultrasound because I went to the ER for crampings. My ultrasound measured the baby as 5 weeks 6 days. All I could see was a Sac and a little blob in the sac. There was no heartbeat detected because it was too early. I go back this coming Thursday for another ultrasound. Good Luck!

All I saw was a sack around 5 weeks, I go back tomorrow and hopefully can see more.

At 5 1/2 weeks, they saw the fetal pole in only one of my gestational sacs (I have fraternal twins). The other gestational sac had no detectable fetal pole - but it did have a yolk sac. We were told not to expect the missing one to every show up...and to plan on seeing some bleeding or else see that it had been reabsorbed at our next appt.

We went back at 8 weeks and there were 2 babies, 2 heartbeats -- and both looked equally good. Good luck!

At 5w we saw just a sac. At 5w5d we saw the yolk sac and then at 6w5d we saw the fetal pole and a heartbeat.

I had one a 5 weeks (we thought I was 6 weeks, but I apparently ovulate later in my cycle) and it scared the bejesus out of me, we saw nothing, absolutely nothing. I went in a week later at 6 weeks, and saw the sac and fetal pole and saw the heart beat, it's amazing how much can change in a week.

thank you EVERYONE sooo much!!! My HCG levels more than doubled in 4 days so that put my nerves to ease a bit! 2 more days and HOPEFULLY we will see our baby and heart beat!!! Thanks again! good luck to everyone on their next us!!!
