So I received one as a baby shower gift and am super excited to use it once baby is here, but I never really thought about when you put it on. I'm due December 10th, so it'll be super cold no matter how long we wait to take her out and about. How do you go about putting on the wrap in public? For instance, do you put it on in the car, put her in it and wrap your coat around yourself AND baby? Do you take the car seat into the building, put wrap and baby on then have someone (if available?!) take the seat back to the car? I'm just wondering what others have done. It never crossed my mind until now!

I always would put it on before I left the house so that I didn't have to deal with putting it on in the parking lot and risking it touching the ground. I plan on doing the same this time around and like pp said, eiher covering the baby with my coat as well, or use her blanket to cover her until we get inside.

Yep, this is what I did. I don't like to have it touch the ground if I can help it, and it's so long it almost has to.
THIS!
i found the moby to be a hassle with putting on/off. if you do it in the parking lot it drags on the ground and gets dirty. so yeah, i would put it on at home first, but it just seemed a little ridiculous to me to have to wear the wrap all day just to put lo in it every once in a while. i actually ended up getting rid of it and got a k'tan instead. its like the moby, but easier to put on. so i can just quickly throw it on when i get to the store. but no matter what style of carrier you use, babywearing rocks! just find one that you and lo like
