I've been reading post here for awhile and thought I would say hi. I'm so glad there's somewhere that I can look for answers to my questions. Any who, I have a 20 month old DD with egg, pork, and preservative food allergies which are all considered moderate. DD has severe allergies to mosquitoes, certain chemicals, and preservatives. Just about anything she touches she's allergic to. We see an allergist and a pediatric dermatologist. It's been a rough road but I think we finally are getting the hang of it.
Re: New here
hiya!
I'm so sorry about that lengthy list! You have some very uncommon ones which i'm sure makes it so much harder than having the top 8!
I've never even heard of a mosquito allergy, but i know that anything is possible and you can be allergic to practically anything. How do you avoid mosquitoes?
My son has an allergy to milk/soy/egg/peanuts.. We're challenging soy right now which seems like a rollercoster ride.
Yes her list is pretty odd haha. We had a really hard time finding a doctor to figure out what was wrong with her. At four months she had an insane reaction to her shots. Everytime she had a mosquito bite they told me it was infected. We lived with constant rashes that were all "normal." The final straw before I took things into my own hands and found someone to listen to me was a run in with sunscreen that her throat started to close up. The preservative allergy is the hardest because she has the strongest reactions to those and they are in everything!
The mosquito allergy is called skeeter symdrome. She has severe swelling (for example if she gets a bite on her leg the whole leg will swell) and asthma symptoms when bitten. Avoiding them completely in Texas is impossible. We have her on a daily antihistamine which helps dramatically if she's bitten. We have to use bug spray any time she leaves the house and if we're outside a lot we double with an off clip on. Once bitten we start a steroid and benadryl.
