I want our family to start going to church again on a regular basis. The specific religion isn't important to me, as long as it's Christian. More important is finding a place with a pastor I like, sermons that move me, and a young-ish, active congregation. It has to be family friendly -- we have 2 small kids who we want to be able to particiapte. I don't want a place that the "family-friendliness" is sending the kids to the nursery to play. Ideally, I'd like there to be a specific children's service... where the kids are involved for part, and then maybe go off to do some sort of activity related to the topic of the day. We are in the Burke/Annandale/N Springfield area, and would ideally like somewhere close by.
Any suggestions?
Re: XP: Family friendly church recommendations?
We go to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Springfield (corner of Rolling Road and Old Keene Mill) and love it. We always go to the Saturday evening service which starts at 5:30 because it's laid back and family friendly. There are always a lot of kids at the service.
My son will wiggle out of the pew and then run down the aisle and it's not that big of a deal...
