TTC after 35

Day 8 follie check-- things are looking up

I crawled out of bed this morning for my appointment. My right ovary had 7 follies between 10 and 13mm and 5 under 10 (but to my eye looked close). The left had a whopping 2 follies over 10mm and nothing under. So I am breathing a little easier, and glad the my bump up in meds actually did something. E2 results will be back later today.

Also today, they changed things up a little bit more with my meds: Yesterday I was taking 375IU total in the form of 4 Bravelle, 1 Menopur. Today and tomorrow, I take 375IU in the form of 2 Bravelle, 3 Menopur.

I go back on Monday, and then I will find out if I trigger Monday or Tuesday for ER on Wednesday or Thursday.

I am still hoping for the earlier one, because I really don't want to delay staring my new job. That is an awkward conversation I really don't want to have.

Funny observation: I think I am the only person that likes to go to the RE alone. The waiting area was standing room only today-- some people were there with both their partner and two of their parents. I think that qualifies as an entourage.

Re: Day 8 follie check-- things are looking up

  • I'm jealous of all your follies! Sounds like it is going well.

For what it's worth, DH does not come with me to monitoring appts either. I don't see any reason for him to come sit there... what a waste of time imo!

  • Sounds really good. Hope you get the earlier trigger and ER. And, I agree that going to RE alone is best. I hated weekend appointments - there were always too many husbands and children in tow, and there just wasn't enough room.

  • Sounds like things are progressing well.  I also prefer to go to monitoring appointments alone.  Hope that you get the earlier ER that you are hoping for.  Conversations about needing medical time right at the start of a new job are tough-hoping you won't need to go there.

  • Wow, nice improvement!!  I am envious.  :)  Hoping I get some more growing before my ER...

Wishing you so much good luck and happy egg growing!!! Smile

  • Sounds promising!  GL to you!

Oh, and not that I would have a choice, but the only time my DH goes with me is when I actually have the IUI (and therefore kinda need him).

  • That's a lot of follies!  Glad to hear you're responding well.
  • Sounds great! Good luck!

And I always go to the RE alone. Unless I need him there to help make a decision, or to drive me home. But even for ET, I wouldn't let DH be in the room. FWIW he would probably pass out if he was in the room, he's very uncomfortable with doctors, so I think it is best for everyone if he is safely seated in the waiting room.

I hope everything continues to go well for you. It seems like it has gone so fast (probably seems even faster for you!)
