I only let ds crawl in the living room where we have a huge cushy area rug. Sometimes he makes it to the wood and will fall over and I cringe. He is a little bitter about not getting to crawl in the other rooms,do I need to get over it and let his little noggin hit the ground?

Re: Baby crawling on wood?
Get him a helmet and some knee pads!
Just kidding. I'm probably going to have to get over the same thing soon, since we only have area rugs, too, but I can't keep him on one rug forever.
You need to do whatever you think is best for your child.
I personally plan to let DD crawl on the wood as much as she pleases, but our whole house is hardwood except for some area rugs. She literally just started crawling on her hands and knees yesterday, so she has only been on the rugs thus far. She doesn't crawl well enough to even stay on her knees on a hard surface yet, she slips.
