Pregnant after a Loss

Can you return unused pumps?

I was originally going to wait to buy a pump until I started BFing and saw that it was working out. However the pump I was planning on purchasing is on sale at BRU right now so now I am thinking about going out to get it. Will I be able to return it if it is never used?

Also do any of you have experience with the Lasinoh Electric Breast Pump-- Affinity? The medela PIS is so expensive and this one seemed comparable. TIA :)

Re: Can you return unused pumps?

  • I don't see why not as long as it is still individually wrapped. You can call and ask what is the terms on returning their nursing products.

  • Thanks ladies! That's what I figured but I just wanted to make sure. It annoys me that breast pumps are so expensive, but I know it's worth it to get a good one.
  • Well, first I'd say I would get a pump before starting BFing, because you just don't know how it'll all work out!  I ended up exclusively pumping for my eldest for 10 months, because he wouldn't latch properly, and if I'd have had to wait to get a pump, we would have ended up bottle feeding.

The reviews on it aren't stellar, are you planning on just pumping at work a couple times a day, and do you have a timeline for breastfeeding?  I really think this is one of the things that spending a little more on is worth the money, because the difference in spending 45 minutes pumping versus 20 is...well 25 minutes :)  Worst case, you buy this one now and make up your mind later and return this one unopened within the 45 days.

  • Yes, if unopened.  My pump is in a sealed box, and the seal says you can't return it after you break the seal.

  • I called them about the PIS....as long as their red sticker seal is not broken you can return it but if it is open it is voided!
