So I'm having a conversation with some girls at work today about my childs stuffy nose, and they bring this contraption up. Apparently one of the girls has heard raves about it and the other is buying it today. I go to the amazon site to read about it, and am completely grossed out, but slightly intrigued. I cannot make a linky but it's nosefrida.com
Do you have it? Does it work? How do you not throw up or gag while doing this to your child?
If it's been discussed on here before, I must have missed it (and sorry) but I had to ask....
Re: Nose frida...have you seen this thing?
Have it. It works really well (esp. if you use nose drops to help loosen the mucous). I don't gag - I liken it to all the other nasty shiit (literally) we have to deal with as parents. I don't gag when I have to wipe her @ss - a little snot isn't going to hurt. ETA: And yes - the snot doesn't come ANYWHERE near your mouth.
I will say, though, that DD doesn't really like it (she never liked the blue bulb sucker, either). I think the suction in her nose really freaks her out so she definitely struggles with me. Fortunately Frida is easy to use and it is over & done with pretty quickly.
Yeah, for some reason the poop doesn't get me as much as the thought of snot does. No clue why! But I am totally considering it though since DS is so darn stuffy. Good to know it works!
I have it and love it. DD is much more tolerant of this over the bulb. As PP's mentioned, no snot ever gets close to your mouth. In my case, it's never gone past the filter. This grosses me out much less than poopy diapers and being sneezed on.
FYI - They sell them locally at Buy Buy Baby and Whole Foods.
