So it went a little better then I thought.
We put her in her crib around 7:30 and she cried and then screamed (that was hard) till 8:30 and then fell asleep. I was amazed. I just kept staring at the screen like she would wake up any min.
I had to go out on the porch quite a few times in that hour.
Then DD woke up at 11:00pm and cried, then scream (again super hard) till midnight and fell asleep till 6:00am
Again, I had to go out on the porch a lot. DH stayed in the house and he didn't really seemed all that phased by it. (lucky duck)
So the first night is over with....now I have to do it again tonight...hopefully won't be so bad.
Warning to those about to try: When I finally got to go hold my baby in the morning her eyes were all puffy from crying, but she still smiled at me and reached for me. It broke my heart to see those puffy eyes.
Re: FU on 1st night of CIO
I went in once after 20min and told her I loved her and it was time for bed. She cried even harder after that so I didn't go in again. Then when she woke up at 11 I went in again, after 20min and said I love you and she cried harder again. Don't think I will be going in there at all tonight. Might send DH once if needed.
How long did it take you?

I find that LO cries A LOT worse if we go in. Once we go in to reassure she freaks out and we end up having to go back in and hold her bc it's violent screaming. Then she falls asleep immedietly on us and we lay her back down. Well when my husband lays her back down, if I go in it's time to eat and there's no getting around it!
